A Smashing Good Time!

As a church family, though we are one in Christ, fellowship between generations can be challenging. It’s hard to find commonalities across those in different stages of life.

However, sports has the unique ability to form bonds across generations. HVMC has the privilege of using ACS (International)’s facilities, allowing us to conduct sports activities catering to all ages - from those in Children’s Ministry to our seniors. These have become mainstays on our church calendar.

In late 2025, the Youth Ministry-Young Adults sports programme was initiated with the aim of fostering stronger bonds across these two age groups.

Every third Sunday of the month, upon conclusion of the main service, a group of 10-20 youths and young adults fellowship over a sumptuous meal in the canteen, before proceeding to the sports hall for an exhilarating afternoon of sports - usually consisting of badminton and pickleball.

Laughter (and the notorious sounds of pickleball) fills the hall, as paddles and conversations are shared. New friendships are formed, and old friendships are strengthened.

This time is especially meaningful for the older youths. As they prepare to step into the next stage of life, these sessions give them a natural and relaxed way to build friendships with their Young Adult seniors.

These games have also become an effective avenue of outreach - participants are more than welcome to invite pre-believing friends to join us, giving them the chance to get to know our friendly church community.

Young and younger, beginners and maestros alike, all are welcome. Join us as we build a community that reflects our unity in Christ - one rally, one conversation, and one smash at a time.

Join us every (to confirm before posting).
