Growing Together in Fellowship

“Let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together… but encouraging one another” (Hebrews 10:24–25).
WSCS HIGHLIGHTS
From the latter part of 2025, the HVMC Women’s Society of Christian Service (WSCS) enjoyed several meaningful gatherings that brought sisters together in fellowship, creativity, service and spiritual renewal. Each event provided an opportunity not only to connect with one another, but also to grow together in faith.
From 19 October to 2 November 2025, WSCS ladies continued their joint support for the Filipino Bazaar by donating pre-loved items.
Our Ladies Fellowship held on 29 Novemberwas a warm and welcoming time of connection, thoughtfully organized by our WSCS VP, Ms Manda Tay. Sisters gathered at NUS Kent Ridge Guild House for conversation, sharing and prayer, creating a space where friendships were deepened and new connections formed. In the midst of busy schedules and responsibilities, the gathering reminded us of the joy and encouragement that come when believers intentionally spend time together. It was a simple yet meaningful evening where hearts were uplifted, and the bonds of sisterhood strengthened.
In December, WSCS ladies were actively involved in the Advent Carols production, helping with the make-up for the stage characters over a span of six weeks of rehearsals, and two actual performances. We also used the WSCS network to source for volunteers to paint murals for the stage. Talents hidden in the congregation stepped up to make an impactful contribution and more importantly, everyone enjoyed giving their time and efforts to this evangelistic outreach event.
As we started the new year, WSCS partnered with HVMC’s Floral Ministry to host a delightful Floral Jam on 18 January 2026. The session, hosted by Audrey Lee and Lorraine Nonis, combined creativity and fellowship as participants learned the basics of floral arrangement while reflecting on the beauty of God’s creation. The feedback was positive, and everyone went home with their own creations, pleased with their accomplishments. Beyond the hands-on learning, the afternoon was a reminder that even simple acts of service can become offerings of worship to God. The beautiful bouquets presented for Sunday Service on 19 January made the entire atmosphere ethereal and beautiful, reflecting the glory of God.
Finally, the WSCS Ladies Retreat on 6 March provided a precious opportunity for sisters to step away from the busyness of daily life and spend intentional time with God and one another. Through worship, reflection and heartfelt sharing led by Rev. Irene Thung, participants were encouraged to grow deeper in their relationship with Christ and to support one another in their spiritual journeys. The retreat held in Eunice Yeo’s home, created space for prayer, listening and quiet reflection - moments that many participants described as refreshing and spiritually renewing.
Looking back on these gatherings, we are reminded that fellowship is a gift from God. Whether through conversations around a table, creative activities, or times of prayer and reflection, each gathering helps to nurture a community where women can encourage one another, serve together and grow together in Christ.
