In the midst of our preparations to leave Singapore, we have found ourselves reflecting on God’s faithfulness over the years. While we are excited about the new mission He has prepared for us in Canada, saying goodbye to HVMC is undoubtedly one of the most difficult parts of this journey.

It still amazes us how God led us to HVMC,14 years ago. Using Google Maps, we took a wrong turn while searching for a church near Commonwealth. That unexpected detour brought us to HVMC. What seemed like an accident then, we now see as God’s loving hand guiding us exactly to where He wanted us to be.

From the very first Sunday we walked through HVMC’s doors, we were welcomed with genuine warmth and kindness. Over the years, it became much more than the church we attended - it became our family here in Singapore. It was here that our faith was nurtured and flourished through the faithful preaching of God’s Word, Christ-centred fellowship, and a community that not only proclaimed the gospel but genuinely lived it out.

God also gave us the privilege of serving alongside this church family. Leading a Life Group has been one of the greatest blessings in our spiritual journey. It stretched us, challenged us, and taught us what it truly means to walk alongside our brothers and sisters in faith. Throughout the years, God opened doors for us to serve in other ministries to support and encourage fellow believers. These experiences have shaped our hearts and deepened our understanding that serving is not simply about filling a role, but about loving God’s people as Christ loves us.

One of our greatest joys has been watching our daughter, Aiana, grow up and be baptized in this church, and serving faithfully using the gifts God has given her. Through the Youth Ministry, she found genuine friends who have become like family. Together they have laughed, prayed, encouraged one another, and grown in their faith.

We are especially grateful to the pastors, leaders, life group leaders and members, youth workers, and everyone who has faithfully journeyed with us over the years. Thank you for your encouragement, your friendship, and for the many times you prayed with us and for us through both joyful seasons and difficult ones. Those prayers, conversations and acts of love have strengthened our faith.

HVMC will always hold a special place in our hearts. We leave with deep gratitude, carrying with us the friendships, lessons and countless memories that have shaped our family. Thank you for walking this journey with us and for allowing us to be part of yours.

Our prayer is that God will continue to bless HVMC and use this church to welcome, disciple, and love many more families - just as He has done for ours.

Till we meet again, may the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God the Father, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all.
