HVMC Counselling Services
“The Lord is near to the broken hearted and saves the crushed in spirit.”
Psalm 34:18
Life brings different seasons. At times, we may feel overwhelmed by anxiety, burnout, grief, loneliness, relationship challenges, family difficulties, or circumstances that leave us feeling stuck and unsure of the way forward.
At HVMC Counselling Services, we believe no one should have to journey through these seasons alone.
Rooted in the love and compassion of Christ, we offer a safe, caring and confidential space where individuals can speak openly about what they are going through, receive emotional support and explore ways forward with a trained counsellor.
-
Our counselling team comprises trained counsellors with Master’s degrees in Counselling, serving in both staff and volunteer capacities. The team is supported by a qualified counselling supervisor, with regular supervision provided to promote ethical practice, accountability and appropriate standards of care.
-
You do not need to wait until a situation becomes a crisis before seeking support. You may find counselling helpful if you are experiencing:
stress, anxiety or burnout;
grief and loss;
loneliness or emotional distress;
relationship or family difficulties;
caregiving challenges;
significant life transitions;
struggles with addiction;
difficulty coping with work, studies or other responsibilities; or
a season in life where you feel overwhelmed, stuck or uncertain about what to do next.
If you are unsure whether counselling is appropriate for what you are experiencing, you are welcome to contact us.
-
No. Our desire is to extend care and compassion to people who need support, including those beyond the HVMC community. Our Counselling Service is grounded in Christian values. At the same time, we seek to respect each person’s background, beliefs and circumstances. Prayer and spiritual encouragement may be offered where appropriate and if welcomed by the individual.
-
Counselling services is currently offered at no charge, as part of the church's ministry of care.
-
Counselling sessions will generally take place in a private counselling space at HVMC, providing a comfortable and confidential environment. Online counselling may also be requested where needed.
